Cutting through the burn

This is the first in a series of pictures that will show you what these men had to cut through for 10 days. Rain, wind and lightening much of the time. Posted by Picasa

Home Sweet Home

Can you imagine having to create your living space almost each and every evening, and then in the morning, pack it all up and continue down the trail. In this picture, there was no snow, wind or rain. Posted by Picasa

Big Nine

I had a question to-day, and it was "What is Big Nine"? Big Nine is an outfitters business in Northern BC and they have temporary camps where they take hunters in during their season. Khan was taken to one of these camps that was an hours ride away from where our cowboys were. Here is the website for Big Nine http://www.bignine.com

George comforts Khan

You recall that one of the horses wasn't doing too well early into the trip. He had very sore feet and the cowboys took a fews days off. Khan finally got up after much persuasion. After 3 days of resting, several of the horses took off and went on their own journey. Jim and Bob went searching for them. They finally returned to camp with the horses in the evening, and the next day they broke camp and they all, including Khan went up to Big Nine. Posted by Picasa

The "B" Team

The Cowboys
Jim, George, Robert and Bob Posted by Picasa

The "A" Team

These are the magnificent beauties that accompanied the fellows on this northern adventure. Some of you may recall that Khan had to be left behind at "Big Nine" as he could not continue on the journey. This beautiful photo was taken by Bob Jepson

A change of venue

I have changed the title of this blog to actually reflect what these four men experienced. To have Olive Henrietta, my alter-ego would not really be suitable. This 2 month ride through northern British Columbia was no small feat. Some people may experience such a ride which might last a week, and will go on trails that have been well thought out and prepared for adventure holidays. For 10 straight days, Robert, Jim, Bob and George had to blaze their way through a burn, which eventually forced them to turn around. You will see some of the pictures that will give you an idea of what they were cutting through. I will post the A team again on this blog, and then will post the pictures of the four cowboys.
